Attention-grabbing blog title, eh? Eh? I had an interesting weekend, to say the least.
First and foremost, I got a new tattoo!! Thanks to the guys over at Elite Ink in Centerline. (They also have a Dearborn Heights and a Warren location.) Rick was my guy and he was fantastic. Friendly, talented, and super informative. Not every artist explains to you why they're doing what they're doing, and which needle does what, etc. It was cool. I got an owl on my right thigh which, turns out, is a pain in the butt to care for in the winter. I had to cut off a t-shirt sleeve, wrap it around my leg, and then try and pull on jeans. Had I gotten a tattoo on my leg in the summer, I would've just lived in shorts. Easy. But no. Anyway. I love it!! Owls represent vision, freedom, wisdom.. Nocturnal animals are associated with dreams... I always like to put a lot of thought into my ink (granted it's there forever). Lol. Check out Elite Ink at www.247tattoos.com.
Saturday afternoon I was at the Suburban Showplace in Novi for the Ultimate Fishing Show. I love going to events there because it's only 20 minutes from where I live (as opposed to the normal 45 minutes to an hour drive I usually make for majority of my events). There were a ton of people and so much to do. I climbed a rock climbing wall (made it to the top, of course). They had an exotic animal exhibit -- cutie little baby white tiger!! There was also a monkey, a porcupine (the big kind, I don't know what they're called) and some sort of other jungle cat. I'm clearly not well-rounded in the exotic animal department. Anyway. WRIF hosted a "Bobbing for Trout" contest. It was disgusting. There were 10 competitors and the object was to stick your head into a bucket filled with live trout and pick one up with your teeth. The fastest time won. SICK. The prize was pretty sweet though- a half day fishing trip and a night's lodging in St. Claire Shores. But still.
YESTERDAY I was at Nitro Circus at The Palace. Myself, Steve Black, Crum (one of the guys in the show) and our contest winner raced down the end of the Gigantaramp on tricycles. Thankfully I didn't see anyone go down the ramp beforehand because it ended up being super fast and I may have been nervous had I known. Lol. Steve Black won the race. I probably came in last, I don't know. The show was amazing! These guys were literally hitting the ramps with anything they could: dirt bikes, bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, a scooter, a Barbie car, a Laz-E-Boy chair, a cooler, a little riding horse thing... It was insane. I grew up riding dirtbikes and ATVs so this was right up my alley.
Ok, I'm done typing now. Until next time!xo Lyndsey
