Is it really possible that Electric Forest has already come and gone, and we're more than half way through 2014? We can't believe it either. A lot of stuff has already happened this year, and the fine folks over at Madison House Productions outdid themselves yet again on the Electric Forest Festival. Set in Michigan's beautiful Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Electric Forest hosted headliners like Zedd, Steve Angello, Umphrey's McGee, Zeds Dead and of course three exhilarating sets from The String Cheese Incident. There were activities on stage at 11:30a starting with daily yoga and went until all hours of the night wrapping up as late as 3:15a.
One of most important things to highlight when talking about Electric Forest is in fact the Sherwood Forest. There is no other festival featuring such an attraction. Each year the forest gets altered, and when you think you've seen just about all there is to see in the forest you discover something new. The Observatory Stage was slightly different, and the viewing area and bar were completely altered into an amazing structure. There were picture frames hanging from all the trees in one area which made for some hilarious and memorable photos. It's hard to say whether we saw everything the forest had to offer.
We also had the chance to sit down with a few of the performers. Some of them were first time foresters and some were experienced campers with solid advice.
