A couple weeks back, the Motor City Madman himself, Mr. Ted Nugent, swapped out his signature long locks for a shorter ‘do, leading to many to speculate that his new look could be a ‘Presidential’ one.
At the time, Nugent stated that the haircut was for practicality, explaining that it made it easier for him to hunt. However, during a recent Google Hangout session hosted by Detroit Classic Rock station WCSX, in which fans were invited to ask Uncle Ted questions, the rocker got the rumor mill turning again by addressing a potential political run.
“I have threatened to run for public office because I have been prodded to do so…so it’s not off the table,” Nugent said. “At this point it would be up to Mrs. Nugent and my family. I would consult with my manager Doug Banker. But I’m being pushed pretty hard to run for public office.”
Ted then goes on to outline what could be campaign platform, discussing his qualifications and the changes he would make if he were in office. After he finishes, WCSX Program Director JT jokes “I’m going to take that as a ‘yes’” to which Nugent responds, “That would be a ‘Sure, why not?’”
Throughout the 40-plus minute Hangout, Ted also discusses his music, including iconic songs like “Fred Bear” and “You Make Me Feel Right at Home,” his time as a morning show host in Detroit, his favorite venue to perform at, and whether he prefers playing with the Amboy Dukes or Damn Yankees, among other topics.
Meanwhile, Terrible Ted has recently released the live double album, Ultralive Ballisticrock, which is available now on CD and DVD/Blu-ray at his official website.
