During its 30-year run, Metallica has always tried to expand its horizons by attempting new things, and now, the band can add playing in China to the list!
Earlier this week, for the first time ever, the metal rockers performed in Shanghai at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, having sold out two shows at the venue in record time.
Lead singer James Hetfield said in an official statement (via Digital Journal), “We didn't expect the energy that was being given to us would be so intense. We were very excited to see people singing the words, joining in and becoming part of the show; which is what we really love.”
And the band isn’t done performing in Asia yet! Metallica also has concerts scheduled in South Korea (August 18), Malaysia (August 21), Singapore (August 24) and Indonesia (August 25).
