Alice in Chains has chosen the new single for its latest album, "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" -- the heavy rocking track called "Voices."
The group has released a lyric video for the track, with a full video expected to be produced before the quartet hits the road again. It's the third single from the album, following "Hollow" and "Stone."
Guitarist Jerry Cantrell tells us the "Voices" was the first thing he came up with for the album:
"I think probably the first song that was demoed was...probably 'Voices,' I guess. That was right after the BlackDiamondSky tour we did with deftones and Mastodon to end the album tour of 'Black Gives Way to Blue,' so I think I demoed that first and started sending it around...Right after I demoed 'Voices' I had shoulder surgery and was out of commission for a while and I couldn't play guitar...'Voices' was probably the first one demoed, and 'Hollow' and 'Stone' were riffs that kind of came about early on that developed into some pretty strong songs."
"The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 when it was released in June. Alice in Chains is currently gearing up for its headline trek on the Rockstar Uproar Festival tour, which begins August 9 in Scranton, Pa.
