Rob Zombie has revealed that his current live show will have an afterlife on DVD.
Zombie says he plans to film the production he's using to close this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival each night, primarily because he wants to document the band he has together, which he tells us is his best ever:
"I've worked with a lot of great musicians and had a lot of great band members, but I've never had four people on the same page at the same time. There's always at least one guy who's resistant to the process or resistant to the idea, and I never really thought that was much of a hindrance 'cause I was so used to that...Having four people that are just down to do anything at any time, that made a huge difference. Huge! And I think that`s why a lot of times you see bands that are best when they're young because usually that's when they're all on the same page, and then they get successful and they splinter off. But for me it was the other way; nobody was ever on the same page, and now 20 years later we are."
Zombie's current group includes guitarist John5, bassist Piggy D. and former Marilyn Manson drummer Ginger Fish.
The Mayhem tour wraps August 4 in Dallas, after which Zombie and company will play at the Sturgis Rally on August 7 in South Dakota, the Heavy MTL festival August 11 in Montreal and Rock in Rio on September 19 in Brazil before Zombie hosts his Great American Nightmare Festival October 10-November 2 in Pomona, Calif.
