Eddie Vedder and company took to their website Thursday to announce the launch of a “Pearl Jam Official” app that allows users to access the band’s music, news, specialty merchandise, social media networks and more.
Free to download via iTunes, the app also features a unique timeline detailing the Seattle rockers’ career milestones, and access to their exclusive “Ten Club” radio.
“The app was created to serve all Pearl Jam fans,” says Ten Club Manager Tim Bierman in an official statement, “but it also allows our official Ten Club members to log into their membership accounts on-the-go.”
“This is a big and active year for the band in terms of album and touring,” Bierman continues. “We wanted to bring all the best features on pearljam.com and the band’s Ten Club to fans via their mobile devices so they weren’t bound to their computers to reap all the benefits.”
Pearl Jam will be releasing their tenth studio album, Lightning Bolt, on October 15, 2013 via Monkeywrench Records. This upcoming fall will also see the launch of the band’s North American tour, which kicks off in Pittsburgh on October 11 and wraps up in their hometown of Seattle on December 6. Presale tickets will be available beginning July 27.
