Though Queens of the Stone Age have been making headlines for topping the Billboard charts this week following the release of their new album, another group of rockers is breaking records as well.
Megadeth released their new album, Super Collider, this week as well, and their album has reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 in its first week.
Billboard reports that the record, which was released on June 4, has already sold nearly 30,000 copies over the past few days alone, making it the band's most successful album since 1994.
According to hennemusic, Super Collider also marks the final project recorded at Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine’s recording studio, Vic’s Garage, before it closed. Don’t fret, though, because Mustaine plans to reopen the studio in another location.
Megadeth released their first single, also called “Super Collider,” back in April. The group is currently touring in the middle of a North American tour, traveling the U.S. through mid-July before heading north for a slew of Canadian shows later this summer.
