"With My Eyes Open" will be the title of Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch`s fourth book, which he plans to publish in 2015. Another memoir, this one will focus on his life from his 2005 departure from Korn to rejoining the group in 2013 and discuss his religious re-awakening, solo career and the launch of his side band Love And Death, among other topics. Head tells us that he has no regrets about leaving Korn, and the group people see now is very different form the one he departed: "What happened was I couldn't be around people killing themselves anymore. I just couldn't be around that...People drink around us all the time and you smell weed once in a while, but as far as doing cocaine or just drinking yourselves into a crazy alcoholic and watching people's lives slip away, I can’t be around that. And so that's not going on in the Korn world no more. That was a big impact for me to come back...It's cool 'cause these guys were working on their lives as I was away from the band. They've been working on their lives, getting their stuff straight, too." Head's previous books include "Save Me From Myself" in 2007, "Wasted By Blood" the following year and "Stronger: 40 Days of Metal and Spirituality" in 2010. Korn is currently part of the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival tour, which wraps up August 10 near Houston.
