Rare AC/DC Single Sells For $4,500 on eBay

A collector or superfan will pay just about anything for that one rare piece of memorabilia.  Just ask the AC/DC fan who dropped nearly $4,500 for a 7” single!

Per, the single in question is the 1974 version of “Can I Sit Next To You, Girl” with original lead singer Dave Evans (no…not that Dave Evans. This one.), which was only pressed and released in New Zealand.

Evans cited various chemistry issues for his departure, which made room for Bon Scott.  And that might be a good thing, because take a listen to Evans version of “Can I Sit Next To You, Girl”…

…and then listen to Scott’s…

They sound like two completely different bands!  While I’m sure Evans is a lovely man, I doubt I’m the only that’s glad things panned out the way they did.

In case there are any AC/DC fans that dying to get their hand on this single, there’s one currently up on eBay with a top bid of $193.17.  As of publishing, there’s eight more days to go on the auction, so you’ll want to keep an eye on this item, because the price will undoubtedly rise.
