P.O.D. is asking fans to fund its next recording venture. The hard-rocking California quartet has set up a PledgeMusic campaign for an album that will feature acoustic remakes of its material, including hits such as "Youth of the Nation" and “Alive," plus a pair of new songs. In a statement on the PledgeMusic site, P.O.D. writes that, "We originally got the idea after doing a number of radio shows and radio stations asking us to perform acoustic. We were a bit hesitant at first, but after great fan reaction, we wanted to do a whole acoustic album. We've been hard at work in the studio and have already finished over half the album. We've been having a lot of fun with it and it's got a really raw, striped down feel to it." Incentives for donations to the project include signed CDs, personal phone calls and Facetime with band members, Skype music lessons and a private house concert. P.O.D. has already reached 20 percent of its goal for the campaign, which wraps up August 23. Contributions can be made at www.pledgemusic.com/projects/pod. P.O.D. is playing a handful of shows this summer, including the Fremont Street Experience on Friday (July 4) in Las Vegas and Rock Fest on July 20 in Cadott, Wisc.
