The Red Hot Chili Peppers have dropped a surprise gift on fans this week. The group has released a new live EP it's distributing for free through its official web site. The five songs were selected by drummer Chad Smith and includes "Breaking the Girl" from a May 7, 2012 show in Boston along with "Wet Stand" (April 10, 2012 from Duluth, Ga.), "Snow" (February 2, 2013, Johannesburg, South Africa), "Power of Equality" (July 5, 2012, Milan, Italy) and "Strip My Mind" (May 4, 2012, Newark, N.J.). It's the second time the Chili Peppers -- who sell individual show downloads as well -- have offered a free EP for fans. The group is currently working on its next album, though bassist Flea is writing an autobiography and working with a side project called Antemasque, while guitarist Josh Klinghoffer has released a new album with his other band, Dot Hacker.
