Motley Crue’s Farewell Tour Kicks Off Tonight

LOS ANGELES, CA - MARCH 20: (L-R) Musicians Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee speak onstage to announce their upcoming Motley Crue and KISS co-headlining tour at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on March 20, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.
It's the beginning of the end tonight (July 2) for Motley Crue as the group begins its farewell tour in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The group has always been known for outlandish stage shows with plenty of stunts and visual stimuli, and drummer Tommy Lee tells us this last trek will not shirk in that regard:

"All's I can say is it's fucking insane -- of course, it's the last tour, so it's gotta be...It's geared towards a happy funeral, a celebration, y'know, but a celebration of something also being over. So it's kind of both. It's kinda hard to explain, kinda like when we did the press conference it was sorta geared towards that New Orleans style, when someone dies, y'know, they celebrate it. It's not, like, a bummer. So we're making this kind of a happy funeral."

The Crue has recorded a new song, "All Bad Things Must End," to coincide with the tour but has not announced a release date yet.

The group will be on the road into 2016 but vows this is indeed its final tour; meanwhile, it's working on a film adaptation of its 2001 band biography "The Dirt" that's supposed to go into production before the end of the year.
