Halestorm Begins Prep For New Album

Lzzy Hale
says Halestorm is in "the beginning stages" of its next album, the follow-up to 2012's "The Strange Case Of..."

Speaking on the red carpet at this week's Ronnie James Dio Awards in Los Angeles, Hale told reporters that, "We just started writing for the next record. It's our third record and what a cool thing it is to make it to that point in your career. We're chasing the song dragon and we're chasing after whatever gets us excited at this point. I think we're starting to crack the code of what we have to do on this record...We've been looking back at some of the classic third records and, Oh my God, there's a little bit of pressure there. But as long as we keep focused on waht we have to do, I think we'll be okay."

"The Strange Case Of..." topped the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart and launched five rock radio hits, including the Grammy Award-winning "Love Bites (So Do I)."

Halestorm recorded a version of Dio's "Straight Through the Heart" for the "This Is Your Life" tribute album, which comes out April 1. Hale has also launched a fashion line called ScissorHappy by Lzzy.
