Detroit natives ELECTRIC SIX have a new record out! It's called Heartbeats and Brainwaves on Metropolis Records.

(It's no secret that Electric Six is one of my favorite bands...so it's also probably not a shocker that I'm really stoked about the new record and want YOU to be as well!)

Heartbeats and Brainwaves is the 8th studio album by the hilariously awesome sextet and it delves a smidge into a different territory without alienating the core fans that freak out when the WHITE WOLF plays the opening riff of "Gay Bar" at a live show. What do I mean, you ask? Well, the new record is more synthesizer and keyboard based...BUT it was actually recorded and produced by the aforementioned WHITE WOLF (Johnny Na$hinal)...so you really can't go wrong there. ANNNDD of course there is still plenty of drums, guitars, bass and weirdness. (The latter, of course, can be attributed to the one and only DICK VALENTINE - lead singer extraordinaire, who both captivates and cracks me up EVERY SINGLE TIME I see them live...and mind you, I've seen them live A LOT!)

There are 14 tracks on the new record and some of the highlights include: French Bacon, Gridlock, Hello! I See You! and Bleed For The Artist.

It's out in stores and available online now. So as they would say - GET SOME!!
Here's the band's bio:

KYNG the southern California hard rock trio, originated in January of 2008 in Los Angeles. Singer/songwriter Eddie Veliz bassist, Tony Castaneda and drummer Pepe Clarke Magana, after years of working off and on with each other on various projects, decided to propagate the idea of a band that would closer fulfill their musical desires. Within months of sessioning the three were sold on the chemistr...y and shortly after that went into the studio to record their debut album. The sound they realized was exactly what they had sought after, a unique and universally appealing combination of heavy and captivating concepts, channeling influences from black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin to the Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age. "We wanted a band that could stand alongside anything in the scene, have the ability to crossover seamlessly and still bridge who we are.” KYNG’s versatile approach of a sweet devastation bleeds from an artistic drive toward a momentum described as "California Heavy". Their evolution will undoubtedly blaze a trail that redefines what is expected and defines the giants they will become.
The Los Angeles based trio, hailing from LA and parts of Mexico, is as unique in spirit as their sound. Reminiscent at times of the metal and hard rock of the late 1970’s in style and musical collection, with a presentation that is totally heavy, classic and modern-day all at once, they are sure to refresh the Active Rock and Metal landscapes of today and tomorrow. As drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña puts it, “I think we’re doing stuff, or a combination of stuff that has been done before, in a way it’s never been done before.” Their sound on Trampled Sun easily provokes the question, “Is that really just 3 dudes?” The pipes on Eddie Veliz reminiscent of Cornell is his early days, the thunder brought by Pepe Clarke Magaña on the drums and the rolling rhythms brought by bassist Tony Castañeda have KYNG meant for great things.
KYNG plan on touring forever as the road is the life’s blood of any young hard rock band looking to take over the world. In the land of pigs, the butcher is KYNG.

Lemmy Kilmister (MOTÖRHEAD), Slim Jim Phantom (THE STRAY CATS) and Danny B. Harvey (ROCKATS, LONESOME SPURS), have teamed up in a high-energy, "take-no-prisoners" combo to remind the world how real rock 'n roll is supposed to f**kin' sound. HEADCAT (formerly THE HEAD CAT) serves up a delicious melting pot with flavors of rockabilly, punk, blues and undeniable rock 'n' roll!

HEADCAT was formed in 2000 after recording an Elvis Presley tribute special to which all band members contributed.

Slim Jim Phantom (drums, percussion), was born in Brooklyn and listened to his parents' jazz records. At the age of ten he took up the drums although he always says that the drums chose him. He is an exceptional drummer who cemented his place among rock royalty long time ago and inspires and excites audiences worldwide.

Danny B. Harvey (guitar, piano) is Texas-born and also discovered his love for music very early. He started playing the guitar at the age of six and even got a full scholarship to study classical guitar. He developed a finger picking guitar style that's very unique and based on his idols Merle Travis and Chet Atkins but also a result of his classical-technique education.

Lemmy Kilmister (vocals, bass, harmonica) was born and raised in England and started to play the guitar at the age of sixteen. With a laughing eye he always said that he only took the guitar to impress the girls. He is an autodidact and changed early to bass as he stated he wasn't a good guitar player. After founding MOTÖRHEAD in 1975 he knows the ups and downs in the business and has reached the status of an icon all over the world.

The new HEADCAT album, "Walk The Walk...Talk The Talk", is due to be released July 5, 2011 through Niji Entertainment Group, the record label Wendy Dio and her and late husband Ronnie James Dio formed before his untimely passing.

Twelve fantastic songs for "Walk The Walk, Talk The Talk" were chosen easily. HEADCAT prepare to take over the airwaves with their first single, "American Beat". "American Beat" is a song written in the studio — Lemmy had the words and the rest came together very quickly. "I Ain't Never" is one of the songs Lemmy really likes and Danny knew it — a real country, rockabilly number, full of love and ready to take you drifting away. "Let It Rock" is one of their favorite Chuck Berry tunes — THE ROLLING STONES did it a lot in their live show in the '70s — HEADCAT plays a different version. "Something Else" is a classic Eddie Cochran — Lemmy came on stage with the STRAY CATS and jammed on it at a show in the '90s at Hammersmith Odeon so it came quite natural to take this on the record.

"Walk The Walk...Talk The Talk" track listing:

01. American Beat
02. Say Mama
03. I Ain't Never
04. Bad Boy
05. Shaking All Over
06. Let It Rock
07. Something Else
08. The Eagle Flies On Friday
09. Trying To Get To You
10. You Can't Do That
11. It'll Be Me
12. Crossroads

Lemmy previously stated about HEADCAT, "[It's all about] having fun. Fun for the sake of it. No ulterior motive. No politics. No gender. No f**king around! (laughs)"

When asked what each member of HEADCAT brings to the sound of the band, Lemmy replied, "I don't know. You'd be the one to tell me that! Well, you'd have to because I can't judge it, because I'm in it! (laughs) You can't judge what you're in the middle of. It's for the outsiders to judge that. It's for the fans to interpret a song, you know. You can write a song and three different people will write three different stories. I can't tell you what we bring to it. We bring what we got."
