• Soundgarden/NIN

Saturday was the Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails show at DTE! I was so excited to go because I haven't seen either band live before and I have heard good things about their live performances. It was by far one of the best shows that I have ever been to! Soundgarden sounded amazing live! Then Nine Inch Nails had the coolest light show I've ever seen! If you didn't get a chance to see them Saturday, I highly recommend you see them next time they roll through town! It's a concert you won't forget! Read More
  • Favorite Band Alert!

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to hangout with the up-and-coming British duo, Royal Blood. The band played at The Shelter inside St. Andrew's Hall in downtown Detroit. They were very down to earth, and excited to play in the Motor City! Unlike most duo's, the band only has bassist/vocals, Mike Kerr, and drummer, Ben Thatcher. NO GUITAR! However, their sound is so full, you wouldn't have even guessed that there isn't a guitar! They definitely rocked the stage! They are by far one of the best sounding duos that I have seen! AND they are now my new favorite band! These guys are definitely going places. Look for their debut album coming out August 25th 2014 and be sure to keep an eye on these guys, good things are bound to happen with this amazing band! Read More
  • Biker Bash!

Finally! I feel like we have been waiting for WRIFS Biker Bash for ever! It finally happened this past Saturday! It was an absolute blast! I started out the day at ABC Harley Davidson in Waterford. By the time I got there, there were already a TON of bikes getting ready for the charity ride to DTE. The proceeds benefited Ted Nugent's Kamp for Kids and Freedoms Angles. There were roughly about 300 bikes that were apart of the charity ride! I got to ride on the back of a Harley Street Glide with one of the members of the Waterford Hogs Chapter. Andy also rode with us in a sidecar! Haha! Then we started the party at DTE with music performances by Screamin Scott's band Chit, Pistol Day Parade, and Citizen Zero! We gave away that custom Dyna Low Rider to one lucky person who was very excited to win! Then I went in a freezing cold dunk tank to raise money for the charities! Then finally Ted Nugent took the stage and rocked it! It was the first time I got to see Uncle Ted in concert and he was amazing! All said and done, it was a very fun day! Read More
  • Mayhem Fest

This weekend was an absolute blast! Thursday was Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest at DTE. The weather was perfect and the bands were awesome! So many good metal bands played!! The best part of the day was having the chance to meet both Asking Alexandria and Korn! Then later I got to see both bands take the main stage at DTE. They both put on a great show! Friday I spent the day at Vans Warped Tour! I met up with a bunch of friends and rocked out to some awesome bands! My really good friend's band, from my hometown of Lapeer, got to play on stage for the Warped Tour Battle of the Bands! It was so cool seeing an amazing local band have such a great opportunity to play at this huge music festival! Check out Chasing the Riots on YouTube and Facebook!

  • 4th of July!

Well, it's now the Tuesday after the big 4th of July weekend, and I think I'm still in recovery mode... I'm exhausted... but that only means I did it right! Right?! I started out the holiday weekend at Lake St Clair and watched the amazing fireworks from the boat! Then I spent Saturday exploring around downtown Detroit with some friends. Went to the Eastern Market, got tacos from a bunch of different places (just to compare and see which one was the best), then ended up at the old shillelagh for the rest of the night. Then my friends and I thought it was a really awesome idea to get up really early Sunday and go kayaking in Ann Arbor all day. Well, we didn't get up as early as we wanted to.. but we still were out on river for a long time and it was a blast! I would have to say I had a pretty successful and fun weekend, and I hope you did too! Read More
  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Kenny Wayne Shepherd came in the studio last week for an interview with Anne Carlini. I was so excited to have a chance to meet him because I have been a fan for years. I grew up listening to artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix, so when I first heard Kenny I just instantly thought he was amazing. In his interview with Anne, he even talks about SRV and Hendrix being some of his major influences. You can hear a lot of their style in the music he plays. If you haven't seen the interview and his acoustic set he performed for Anne, check it out in the interview section under media! Later that day we headed to Royal Oak Music Theater to see Kenny perform live! It was the first time I've seen him on stage and he just blew me away! I've never seen someone play with so much soul! It was an amazing show. The opening band, Robert Randolph and the Family Band were equally awesome! I had the goosebumps the whole time they were on... simply amazing! If you haven't checked out that blues group yet, it is a definite must! Read More

  • I Survived The Zombie Run!

I had SO much fun over the weekend at The Detroit Zombie Run! I was more afraid of the running part rather than the zombies... BUT I made it out alive! After running 3.1 miles and climbing over 8 ft walls and going through other obstacles, I had the chance to be transformed into a "biter" by the professional special effects makeup crew that was there. It was such a fun experience, especially since I have an obsession with zombies! Read More
